iMoviesoft iPod Video Converter is a video conversion utility. You can use it to convert some of your video files so that you can play them on your iPod. The application uses conversion profiles, which are preconfigured conversion settings that are optimized for a specific device, to help you during the conversion process. There are 15 different profiles available, for devices like the iPod Touch, iPod Nano, iPod Video and iPod Classic. Some of the profiles are great for using the TV out feature of the iPod. These use a bigger resolution that looks better on the TV. Additionally, you can convert your video files to audio files, discarding the video track and keeping only the audio. The supported output formats are H.264 and MPEG-4 for video, and MP3, M4A and AAC for audio.
Input format support isn't great in this application. It doesn't support popular formats like MKV. DivX and XviD are supported.
The app comes with a video editor that lets you trim and crop videos and adjust some of their properties.
I tested this app with a DivX file and it worked quite well. A 1-minute file was converted in less than 30 seconds. The resulting file looked very similar to the source one.
In conclusion, this is a nice converter, but it doesn't have the best format support. It also doesn't boast the best graphical interface design I have seen in a video converter. To be honest, the converter looks old.
