iLingual 1.2.3

iLingual has been designed for the purpose of localizing applications. It runs on OS X 10.4.11 or newer versions of the Mac operating system.

Localization is used for adapting pieces of software to several languages, to differences that occur among distinct regions and technical requirements that vary according to targeted markets. Internationalization and localization are often discussed together. The first refers to designing a program that can be adapted to several languages with no need to intervene with engineering issues. The second refers to adapting the internationalized software, in terms of language and region-specific aspects, by adding components and translating given text. For these purposes, one of the important characteristics that has been created for iLingual is that it offers a large language menu, of about 35 different languages. Among these, English, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, French, Italian, Finnish, Greek, Romanian, Slovakian could be named to point out their variety. Files with the .nib, .plist and .strings extensions are easily handled. When newer versions of an application become available, localization can be performed for what has been modified or newly added, with no need for it to be performed for the entire application.

iLingual is a useful localization tool, aimed at those who are interested in adapting applications to several languages or regions.
