iFunia MKV Converter is a commercial video converter. It can be used to convert your MKV files into other formats, including AVI, MOV, FLV, DivX, XviD, H.264, MPEG-4 and others. MKV files are great, for many different reasons. But they are not supported by many devices, especially those that are portable. Thus, the need arises to convert those files if you want to play them on your iPad, iPhone, cell phone or other devices. This converter can help in that.
The app has a nice graphical user interface. There is a video player that lets you see your videos before conversion and a pane where you can change all the conversion settings. There are a few conversion profiles. Some of the included devices are Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PSP, iPad, iPhone, and AppleTV, among others.
In my testing, I used an MKV file. I trimmed it using the built-in video editor to a 1-minute long clip. Then I selected the subtitle track that I wanted to use and chose H.264 as the output format. The file was converted in less than a minute, which is good. The subtitle wasn't hard-coded onto the video, but the file looked great.
