iFunia HD Video Converter is a commercial video converter. It is optimized for the conversion of high definition files. Thus, all the conversion profiles that it includes are for HD files. The application can open pretty much of any popular video format, and it can convert them into H.264, MPEG-4, MOV, MKV, MPEG-2, ASF, AVI, WMV, FLV, and TS. For each conversion profile, you can customize its resolution, quality, bitrate, frame rate for video and its quality, bitrate, sample rate and channels for audio.
The application comes with a nice video editor. With it, you can increase or decrease your videos' brightness, contrast, crop and trim your videos, add watermarks and setup deinterlacing. The editor shows an original view or your video and a preview of what the video will look like after the effects are applied.
In terms of performance, iFunia HD Video Converter experienced some problems when converting files with surround-sound tracks. I tested it with a 1-minute long MKV HD file with a DTS track, which I converted to H.264. The process took a bit over a minute, and the resulting file looked very good; almost identical to the source file. The audio, however, was not converted well. The voice track (center speaker) was not converted into the output file at all, so all I heard were the sound effects and the background sounds, but no voices. I tested this with two different files that has DTS soundtracks.
