Identity Finder can help you protect your privacy by letting you know what sensitive information is stored on your computer. It scans through folders and emails to find those data you may have left behind, when you send a message or fill in a web form, possibly including credit card numbers, passwords and bank account info. This way, the program sorts the data found and allows you to eliminate the information that you no longer need and that could eventually get into the wrong hands.
The program has a nice interface. In order to make it easier for you, the application starts with a branched wizard. Therefore, by simply providing answers to the questions, you can adapt the initial scan to your specific needs.
When I ran the program, it did not find much information about me, which means that my data was rather secure. However, it managed to extract the password to my Gmail account from Mozilla Firefox. And who knows how much information can anyone find with just cracking into an e-mail account? Fortunately, it let me erase the sensitive data for good.
Another possible use of the application is to recover lost information. This may come in handy when you have forgotten passwords, telephone numbers, etc.
In general, Identity Finder is an excellent program. Now I cannot think of any disadvantage, except for the risk involved in anyone using the program against me. In this case, it could be enough to crack my Windows password (which can be easily done) and run Identity Finder to know a lot about me.
