iCoolsoft MP4 Converter Suite for Mac combines two different applications in a single package. The apps included are DVD to MP4 Converter for Mac and MP4 Converter for Mac. With those tools you can rip your DVD movies and convert your video files into H.264 and MPEG-4 files, and a few other formats. If you were planning on getting those two applications separately, buying this suite instead will result in savings of almost $30.
When you run this suite, you will see a launcher that lets you access each one of the apps included in it. You can only run one of the apps at the time. They both share a similar graphical user interface and they both have the same output format support.
I tested the DVD ripper by converting one DVD title from a sample DVD movie into H.264 for the AppleTV. I trimmed the title to a 1-minute clip and then converted it with one of the subtitle tracks. The application hard-coded the subtitles on the file and they looked quite good. The video converter was tested by converting a 720p MKV file into H.264. The process was quick and the resulting file looked nearly as good as the source file, albeit with a lower resolution. I tried converting this file to one of the HD conversion profiles but the process was rather slow on my Mac.
