iAction is a very useful system utility that lets you schedule actions. There are five different actions available: Restart, Shut Down, Log Out, Sleep and Shut Down Monitor. But the application can also run any AppleScript, so the possibilities are quite endless. Scheduling works in two ways. You can either schedule an action to take place at a given time or when a timer runs down. If you choose to start an action at a given time, all you need to do is to select the date and time when you want the action to take place and then click on "Run". The same goes for the timer. After setting the countdown clock, you can select the action and then click on "Run". If you wish to run an AppleScript, you will need to select the script file.
Unfortunately, only one action can be carried out at a time. This is the application's main limitation.
In my testing, I ran actions both at a time and using the timer, and the application performed quite well. I tested the Shutdown and Shutdown Monitor actions and they both worked. I couldn't test any AppleScripts, but if the scripts work in standalone mode, they should work with this app.
