The “I Love Library” application lets you create, view and organize e-books and other materials such as newspapers, photo albums and various types of documents. It’s a powerful utility that has two main components: the Builder which helps you create new e-books and save them in your personal library, and the Viewer, which lets you open and read the e-books.
It offers many handy features, such as the possibility to output the e-books to a large variety of file types, including PDF, JPG, GIF, BMP, TIF, PNG and TWAIN. It even lets you insert elements such as images, animations or audio clips and multimedia files of various formats, including AVI, MPEG, MP3, WAV, anywhere in your E-Book. And there’s more to come: creation of a handy Table of Contents, that allows you to jump directly to a specific page, is also possible.
On the other hand, the fact that the interface can be used only in full screen mode, without allowing you to resize it, and the fact that the application performed really badly on my computer in terms of speed and smoothness, pretty much ruined my impression from it.
In conclusion, though truly powerful and feature-rich, this tool left me a bit disappointed, as using it felt somewhat uncomfortable because of the large, unresizable interface, and the sloppy performance. Anyway, it’s a handy tool worth being taken into consideration when looking for a powerful and feature-rich e-book creator, viewer and manager.
