Hyper is a modern, Electron-based, terminal tool designed to make engineers' life easier by providing a versatile environment for executing command-line tasks. The installment can easily be completed by any type of user, regardless of their computer knowledge.
Being a command-line tool, Electron doesn't have a typical user interface, but it does have an option that allows users to change the theme from the command line. Though it lacks menus and buttons, at times typing feels laggy.
The app has been built on HTML/CSS/JavaScript, so it's pretty flexible. It embeds extensions and plugins, available on npm, that easily be accessed via the command-line. The plugins can be loaded and reloaded by pressing Command + R, so you don't have to restart the application.
As per command keys, they can be changed by editing the hyper.js file and adding the desired change to 'keymaps'.
Also, the Redux actions can be handled through reducers and middleware, but there can be side effects, such as dispatch of actions based on state.
To conclude, Hyper provides users a flexible environment for performing various command-line actions, all done using Electron web technologies. It's not the fastest tool, but it gets the job done. And it's free.
