Hummingbird SOCKS is a program that enables you to connect to the Internet one or more computers on the same local network. The program can also be used to hide your real identity from the websites you are visiting. Hummingbird SOCKS works via routing all the Internet connections established by any program on your computer to socks V4 or socks V5 servers. Socks V4 are proxies which have Internet access, therefore they can perform the connection requests on behalf of client computers and return the resulting data of these requests back to the clients. The main difference between socks V4 and V5 is that the latter supports authentication and PROXY NAME functions which are not supported by socks V4. The program has an easy-to-use and self-explanatory configuration wizard which will lead you through 2 simple steps: the first step allows you to add a local user account to a socks server account and the second step allows you to add the socks server settings such as the type, port, server address and the destination IP along with its subnet mask and port numbers. The program can smartly balance the load between multiple socks servers if multiple servers are added to the program. Hummingbird SOCKS is a freeware product that can be used on unlimited number of computers for free.
