HTR HD High Tech Racing 1.01

HTR HD High Tech Racing is a slot car arcade game for the Mac. It is also available for iOS devices. In this game, you control a slot car which races against three other cars in a number of tracks. The tracks are all different and present unique difficulties, like jumps, loops and crossroads. There are 18 tracks in total and the game lets you create your own tracks and customize your cars' chassis, tires and engine. There are 243 different car configurations that you can try on each track. The graphics aren't bad, and the action is fast-paced.

The biggest problem with this game is that is requires absolutely no skill from the player. You can just hold the accelerator the entire race and you will surely win it. This happens track after track, even when you are playing in the harder difficulty modes. For example, the first track is a loop, and even though you may crash with other cars and lose time, after your car is reset, you still win the race. This made me lose interest in the game after two races, and I won't go back to it. I am sure this feeling is shared by many users. It is just no fun playing a game knowing you can easily win, at least not for me.
