HTC Home Apis is a small and simple utility that lets you add three handy widgets to your Windows desktop. As its name suggest, this application recreates the HTC Home widgets, specific to HTC smart phones, on the Windows PCs. Though only three widgets are provided, they are pretty useful.
The first widget is a simple and neat desktop clock. It can be set to display both the time and the date using different formats. Its transparency level can also be customized.
The second widget is even better. It’s a handy weather reporting widget that shows the current weather forecast for any area of the Globe. It can display the current weather conditions, the temperature, and even the humidity or wind speed. Furthermore, it allows selecting the refresh interval for the weather data retrieval. Unfortunately, by default only one weather provider is offered for retrieving the weather information. If you want to use other weather providers, you have to add them manually using the “Extras” tab.
As you can see, there are plenty of advanced options for these widgets, letting you fully control the way they work. Style settings that let you choose the way they look are also available.
The third widget is meant to help you view photos and set them as the desktop background (wallpaper).
In conclusion, HTC Home Apis is a nice open-source application that offers some really handy desktop widgets.
