There are multiple system files that are normally hidden on your Mac. To reveal them by using default Mac solutions, like entering a command in Terminal, might take a while. For this reason, programs like HideSwitch were created: to quickly reveal hidden system files on your computer.
The main window of the utility consists of two buttons, one is for revealing the hidden system files and the other one is for quickly disabling the aforementioned view option. So, you don't need much computer experience in order to figure out how the program works, hence the lack of a built-in help manual.
Another great aspect is the fact that the tool is compatible with Finder companions like TotalFinder and XtraFinder. Make sure you check the correspondent options (from the Preferences panel) if you use any of these 2 programs, otherwise HideSwitch might not work properly.
Two things bother me about HideSwitch: it still lacks an option to define a global hotkey for quickly revealing hidden system files and the fact that it might take a while to apply the necessary changes (it doesn't happen often though and it could be my Mac's fault).
Still, this program comes without a price tag so you have nothing to lose if you decide to give it a shot.
