Helvetica Weather is a simple weather lookup and forecast application. The temperature in Fahrenheit, wind speed and direction, humidity, and conditions, as well as forecasts for the current and next five days, is displayed in Helvetica font. Only locations with a ZIP code (i.e. within the USA) are supported.
The aspect ratio of Helvetica Weather's window is a dead giveaway of a quick iPhone port. However, rather than clicking and dragging to toggle between current and forecasted weather (only one can be displayed at a time), one has to scroll horizontally, which is easy enough with a trackpad but cumbersome with a mouse. There is an "R" button to refresh the information and an "I" button to change the ZIP code and color. There is a choice of seven basic colors for the text, and the background can be either black or white. One cannot customize any other aspect of the application, including some sideways text that cancels out the readability intended with the emphasis on Helvetica in the first place and which is not at all necessary on a larger monitor.
