As its name implies, Helium Music Manager Network Edition allows you to manage your music library in an easy and fast way. The program can search your entire hard drive(s) and add all the music and sound files it finds into its library. It also sorts out the different files into up to 32 categories such as genre, artist, album, title, date and so on, according to their tags. It also lets you edit the tags assigned to each file according to your needs.
You can perform advanced searches according to different criteria, such as recording and release year, folder, and the aforementioned genre, artist, and so on. It is also possible to create playlists as well as to import and edit them.
The program also has other features. For example, it lets you rip and burn audio and data CDs and DVDs using an unlimited bitrate. Another function lets you split sound files. This is useful, for example if you recorded an entire vinyl LP without separating each track. It also lets you do the opposite, that is, to join different sound files into one. All in all, it is a good program full of features.
The main feature of the Network Edition is the possibility of having up to 5 persons using the program simultaneosly through a domestic or company network, as well as the possibility of remote-controlling the program through your iPod or iPhone.
If you want to check the program before purchasing it, there is a free version with less functions that you can download from the developer's site.
