Who wants Worms when you can have hedgehogs?

Hedgewars is based on the classic Worms game but with the 'twist' that the worms have been turned into hedgehogs hence the name Hedgewars.

Hedgewars is a basically a turn-based strategy game where the aim is to cause maximum destruction. You work in teams so each player controls a team of several hedgehogs. You use whatever tools and weapons are available to attack and kill your opponents hedgehogs who will try and swing from ropes and even use parachutes to avoid you.

You work against the clock so you don't have much time to escape or think out your next attack but that's where the challenge lies. Probably the best aspect of Hedgewars is the huge array of weapons you can choose from. These include Grenades, Cluster Bombs, Bazookas, Shotguns, Desert Eagles, Flame Throwers, Baseball Bats, Dynamite, Mines, Ropes, and even UFOs. The effectiveness of these depends on what kind of attack you need to destroy your opponents.

If you like Worms then you'll probably like Hedgewars, although the concept is hardly original enough for it to be considered a classic.
