Hedgewars is a turn-based platform(er) game that looks a lot like Worms. The game is really a clone of Worms and it even looks like it. You are given a team of hedgehogs, and you play against another team, taking turns trying to annihilate each other. You do that by choosing your arms and tools from the available weapons. You fight against the other team in several maps/locations. Each of them has natural formations that get in the way of your line of sight, so you have to often shoot your weapons in the air hopping you can hit your enemies back on their way down. You usually get the hang of the weapons pretty fast.
For a game that is turn-based, Hedgewars (just like Worms) is a lot of fun. There are servers where you can play against other people from all over the world, or you can simply play against the CPU or another human player on your computer. This is an open-source project and there are versions for Windows and Mac OS X. I have personally tried both, and they look great. The most fun is attained when playing against other people, though.
