GTA2 Game Hunter is an application designed to make finding GTA2 multiplayer opponents easier. GTA2 Game Hunter slightly improves upon GTA2's existing multiplayer features by adding a central chat lobby, automatically writing the settings to the registry, managing a server list, ensuring everyone has the same files and launching GTA2.

GTA2 Game Hunter still uses GTA2's buggy built-in multiplayer that was originally only intended for LANs. If you don't know anything about networks or routers then you are going to have a hard time getting it working. GTA2 requires many network ports to be open (even if you are only joining, you still need to open ports).

The game will run too slowly if there is just a single high pinging bastard. If you try to play in a country far from yours or with a ping higher than 100ms then GTA2 will run slowly for all players in the game.

GTA2 only supports a maximum of 6 players per game and most people play with even less players due to sync bugs and lag. I still really enjoy 1vs1 games, it's a true test of skill.
