Greenfish Icon Editor Pro is more than a simple icon editor. With its help, you can also create static or animated mouse cursors (CUR and ANI files) or you can edit normal image files. It includes all of the popular tools such as rectangular selection, lasso, magic wand, pencil, paintbrush, bucket fill, gradient fill and so on. The surprising thing is that although this is a simple editor, it supports graphical layers. This is a huge advantage as it allows for more complex editing in an organized manner. Furthermore, many blending modes between the layers are supported so you can achieve interesting effects.

Because the application focuses on editing icons, when opening or creating a small image (less than 64x64), the drawing canvas displays a grid that isolates each pixel so that they’re easier to see and work with.

The image filters (effects) available are not spectacular but with the right knowledge and skills they can help create nice graphics.
