Gmail Launcher is a simple, unobtrusive app for overriding mail to links for use with Gmail on Mac OS X 10.5 and above. It is quite simple in that, unlike Google Notifier, that is all it does. It is also not a long-standing background process; it quits immediately after opening a link (and you never see it).
Mia for Gmail (was Notifier Pro for Gmail) is a desktop Gmail client which sits politely in your menu bar.
