Gmail Extract Email Addresses Software is a small program that does exactly what it says, extracts e-mail addresses from the popular free e-mail service. The addresses can be extracted from various folders - Inbox, All Mail, Drafts, Sent mail, and so on - depending on the user’s choice.
Results can also be displayed in various formats, based on later use: a "list" option will just put them in a single column, and "coma-delimited" option will have them in rows separated by commas. A third option is to save them as a Gmail-friendly list, a format that allows Gmail to import the e-mail addresses from a file.
In order to extract addresses, you will need a Gmail address and password, and also the IMAP option enabled in Gmail account options. The use of English language in Gmail is necessary as well. The software also installs a movie with a short and useful tutorial on how to use it.
Anyway, considering that all this application does is just extract e-mail addresses, I consider it overpriced. Especially when this can be done for free, using Gmail Contacts export options and some manual editing. Accessing http://www.google.com/contacts you’ll be able to export them in Google CSV, Outlook CSV, or vCard formats. The first two can be opened with any spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel, or Google Spreadsheets. From there, the e-mail address column can be copied anywhere.
