FTP Disk is intended to allow data transfer via FTP protocol. The application’s interface is very similar to those of other FTP clients and also resembles a standard file browser. It is divided into two panes: one of them allows picking the desired FTP server and the other shows a list of available folders. Luckily, you configure as many servers as it is necessary. What is more, various transfers can be done simultaneously.
In order to upload the intended files, you just need to drag and drop them to the desired FTP folder. However, I personally prefer the interface layout that allows browsing two different locations at the same time, which facilitates copying and moving operations.
The tool also supports other common operations, like browsing remote folders, downloading data and previewing images. Moreover, the application allows setting permissions on the remote folders. There is even a built-in editor that lets you modify remote text files.
The client can transfer data at high speeds and supports not only FTP but FTPS (SSL/TLS) as well, which allows more secure connections. Regrettably, it does not allow other protocols, like SFTP, SCP and WebDAV.
All in all, FTP Disk is a useful application if you need to maintain a website. It also lets you reliably download contents from an FTP server. The product is shareware and can be tried for a limited period without any feature limitations. In this respect, if you want to save a few bucks, you can continue looking for a similar free tool.
