If you're a big Dilbert or Peanuts fan or just need a cartoon chuckle to get you through the day then take a look at freeComics Widget.
freeComics Widget is an excellent little dashboard addition that features comic strips from all the major names such as Dilbert, Peanuts, Andy Capp, and Calvin & Hobbes. Once installed, you can cycle through them using the 'Next' and 'Previous' buttons. If you want to change the author of the comic strip, just click on the drop down menu and you'll be given a choice of 150 to choose from, so you won't get bored easily.
freeComics Widget is a superb dashboard app, especially considering it's free, but it is rather slow to respond to commands. When you try to cycle through the comic strips, it takes at least a few seconds to respond, leaving you to believe that it's not working. However, eventually it will kick into action so bear with it. There are no customization options either. It would have been nice to have had an email or send-to-a-friend option to share the funniest clips and also possibly a random selector which chooses strips for you.
All in all however, you can't complain much as freeComics for getting some of the highest quality cartoon strips around being delivered to your desktop for free.
