Flash Stopper Free could be considered as a system optimization tool. The app can kill all the Flash processes in your system. You may ask why. Flash is a great technology, but it isn't without flaws. Perhaps, the most important one is that it uses way too much CPU power. Thus, it makes computers slow, it heats them up and it can cause crashes. This is all true for all computers using Flash, even Macs. Flash Stopper Free supposedly can prevent Flash processes from running and it supports all major web browsers (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc.) in 32-bit and 64-bit configurations. With the app installed, you shouldn't see Flash animations on websites that you visit.
Flash Stopper Free runs on the Menubar, from where you can activate it or deactivate it, or kill all the flash processes currently running.
In my testing, even with the app running and activated, I was still seeing Flash animations on websites like the New York Times. When I killed all the processes, the Flash plugin crashed, and the animations were gone. But I had to do it every time I opened a web page. I read on the application reviews on the Mac App Store that other uses say that the app doesn't work all the time. It is a bit of hit and miss. Still, it is nice to be able to kill the flash processes when you want to.
