FLACTunes is intended for transcoding FLAC files to other formats you can easily import into your iTunes library. This tool is very easy to use and takes care of most of the process automatically. Its interface is neat and straightforward. The app’s workflow is very simple as well: You just need to import the FLAC files you want to convert and proceed to transcode.

Although it works perfectly from out of the box, you would probably like to visit its settings window to configure a few things. In this respect, you may want to change the default target format from MP3 to M4A. Besides, it is possible to change the output quality to one different from that of the source files. In addition, you can create a list name and pick the target path. Likewise, you can decide whether you want the resulting files to be automatically added to your iTunes library or not. Good news is that the latest version has a built-in audio player that lets you review the contents of the files.

FLACTunes has the advantage that you do not need to make any type of decision in terms of selecting a format compatible with iTunes. However, the price for this is that it does not support as many formats as other audio converters, which makes it too specific.

All in all, FLACTunes makes importing FLAC files into your iTunes a breeze, as you do not even need to configure anything for it to work properly. Regrettably, the app has been reported as not running appropriately in recent macOS versions, which sometimes leads to crashes. Although a demo version is available at the Mac Store at no cost, you would eventually need to acquire the full version, available as an in-app purchase.
