FLACer is an free encoder/decoder for FLAC (the free lossless audio codec). FLACer also uses the Sound Exchange Library for conversion of CDDA audio.
To use FLACer, simply drag and drop the files you would like encoded (registered version only) or decoded into the list and press "Begin". Higher compression levels take more time to encode. FLACer supports AIFF, WAV, and CDDA (AIFC) formats, in addition to FLAC.
Flac files can be played using such applications as VLC on Mac OS X and xmms under X11. Requirements
