Fireworks HD is an app that can display fireworks shows on your desktop. The app can function as a screensaver, which will be controlled by your system's screensaver settings, or you can run it as a standalone app whenever you want. As the name suggests, this application displays high definition firework shows. That is the reason why the app takes so long to download. Those videos take up a lot of space, but they are worth every megabyte.
When you first launch the application, you will see a configuration dialog. There are three options that you can change using sliding bars. The first one is the maximum random time between bursts, the second is the minimum random time between bursts, and the third one is the volume of the sounds. The default settings were good for me, so I left them unchanged. You will quickly notice when you run the animations that there are only three or four different firework shows. They can get a little boring after a while. But if they are not repeated (remember they are displayed at random) you can get 2 or 3 minutes of constant footage. On full-screen mode, the fireworks look real. You can see smoke, flashes of light, and the sounds are out of sync with the explosions, just like in real life.
