FingerWorks is a program created for beginner guitar players who want to learn the notes from the fretboard of a virtual guitar. The utility features a user-friendly interface, provides you with some useful practice settings, and comes without a price.
After you click the "Start" button, the tool will start displaying a note and indicate its location on the fretboard. The utility will also play the notes, so you can hear exactly how they sound. In addition, you can enable or disable metronome sound if needed.
Another advantage is the fact that the program features both left and right-handed modes. Simply go to the Settings panel of the utility and select the preferred guitar display mode.
The only thing missing from FingerWorks is an option to select the preferred BPM value. It's 20 BPM by default. As for the rest, the utility works perfectly, is very simple to handle, and uses a small amount of CPU resources while running on your Mac.
Still, the program is free of charge and might prove to be of good use if you're just starting to learn how to play a guitar.
