FeedExplorer is an advanced RSS news feed reader. It downloads these feeds according to the time interval that you specify. The feeds and category can also be updated manually with one mouse click. Notification forms will periodically inform you of new feeds retrieved.
The program has a good internal web browser so you can view the feed links for more details. The browser allows you to enable/disable pictures, videos, Active-X controls, Java applets and Java execution. It also has 15 different visual styles that you can apply on the fly. You can open any website or news feed in the internal web browser directly using the address bar. The program has proxy support. You can customize the port number plus use authentication-based proxy servers.
The user interface is modern and very customizable; you can add/remove buttons and even commands. This interface works in a way similar to Microsoft Windows Explorer as it shows main categories and their sub-categories on separate panels. The feeds panel groups your feeds together according to their publication date.
The program requires that you download and install '.NET Framework' version '1.1', which is almost 126 Mb; or alternatively '.NET Fix', which is only about 20 Mb, provided that you have a higher version of '.NET Framework'.
