But if you'd like to have the latest, up to date weather information closer to home, then you can download the Eyewitness News Alert 2.0 application from the WCTV online station, free of charge. This neat little program will bring right to your desktop or Laptop, County Specific Weather Warnings, Watches and Advisories, with zoomable graphic maps, and will provide you with an hour by hour forecast for up to 4 locations. When not extended, the Eyewitness News Alert application sits neatly into your taskbar displaying your own area's current temperature and if a severe weather alert comes in, the program will alert you by first making a sound to grab your attention, and then by displaying a crawl text of the weather alert across your desktop, similar to what you normally see in a television news report.
