Extra Clock is a tiny free program that can be used along with, or instead of, Windows' default clock. Although its default appearance is rather dull, you can customize it by choosing among different combinations of backgrounds and colors. For example, you can choose a butterflies background and combine it with a green interface color. There are many possible combinations. Also, you can set the clock to show or hide the actual date, and to display its face as analog, digital or both. Perhaps, the most interesting feature is the possibility of setting alarms. You can set the time at which the alarm will activate, and the action your system will perform at that moment. For example, you can set the program to simply play a .WAV file to remind you about something, or to shut down your system, reboot your computer, and more.
Although the program is absolutely free, the installation wizard asks you to install Incredibar's toolbar, to change your browser's home page to that of the company and to make MyStart Search your default search engine. Nevertheless, you can decline to do so and still have the program installed in your system. In general, Windows' clock is a very useful feature but it can be too small for some people.
