The Simpler Version of Spore

Evolution is a creature-making simulationsoftware created by Keiwan Donyagard. More of an experimental simulator rather than a game that’s reminiscent of the Spore games, this app will have you building simple creatures that can run, jump and climb obstacles with only joints, bones, and muscles. Your creatures automatically gain a brain once you click the Evolve button. And with the combination of a neural network and a genetic algorithm, they can learn and improve at tasks all on their own, as long as you construct their body parts right.The simulator will choose the best of each generation of your creatures and will let you build and improve them using those chosen few as preset creatures you can start with. As the developer states, Evolution isn’t much of a game since there are no achievements or player rewards, even if you create the best creature that can overcome all tasks. However, it’s still a challenging creature builder to try your hands on.
