Etcher is a Mac tool designed to help you immediately burn disk images to your SD cards or USB drives. This program provides you with a user-friendly interface, immediately burns the imported disk images without slowing down your Mac, and comes without a price tag.

Unlike many other tools of its kind, Etcher gives you access to simple to configure output settings. So, it requires minimum Mac experience in order to make use of its capabilities.

All you need to do is to import your disk image, select the SD card or USB stick from a given list (the device needs to be connected to your computer), and click the "Flash!" button. You also have access to an option which, once enabled, it automatically unmounts the connected device once Etcher completes the disk image burning process.

My only problem with this tool is that it occasionally runs slow. To be more specific, in my testing, the utility took a while to launch and occasionally froze when selecting the input and output options (disk image and destination).

Still, this program is one of the best disk image burning programs I tested on my Mac. Plus, it comes without a price tag. So, you should give it a shot if you need to quickly burn disk images to SD cards or USB drives.
