Eschalon: Book I is a retro-styled fantasy role-playing game in which you play an amnesiac hero trying to uncover the secrets of your past. The style and presentation of this game evoke classic RPGs such as the Ultima series.
Eschalon: Book I features many of the things fans of older RPGs will want in a modern game. For example, its character creation system features plenty of customization options, allowing you to choose the class and skills that work for you. The central storyline is relatively linear, but there are lots of side quests to help you gain the treasure and experience you'll need. Eschalon's presentation is decidedly retro, with functional but not stunning graphics.
If you're looking for something with a little more depth than the typical casual mobile RPG -- and you don't mind graphics that do the job but don't stand out -- then investing some time in Eschalon Book I can be a rewarding experience.
