Emicosft MKV Converter for Mac is a commercial video converter. It is a standard video converter that comes with conversion profiles for a variety of devices. These conversion profiles are optimized conversion settings. Some of the supported devices are the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, iPad, iPhone, AppleTV, a lot of mobile phones, and others.
The graphical user interface is the same used by all the Emicsoft converters and rippers. It isn't hard on the eye, but it doesn't really look like it belongs on a Mac. There is a video player for quick video playback and some drop-down menus where you can choose your desired formats and change the audio track and subtitle language if you want. This feature doesn't seem to work, though.
Emicsoft MKV Converter for Mac accepts MKV files as input and it can convert other files to MKV as well. However, like 90% of the "MKV"-branded converters, it lacks important features for the conversion of those files. First, it won't let you add subtitles to your files, and it won't let you hard-code the subtitles of the MKV files that already come with them. Moreover, you can't add multiple audio tracks to MKV files. In other words, if you are simply planning on buying this or any other MKV converter out there, you might be better off buying the fully-featured converters that developers offer.
