Emicsoft HD Video Converter for Mac is a commercial video converter. You can use this app to convert high definition files into formats that are optimized for the playback of HD content. Some of the supported formats are MKV, H.264, MPEG-4, TS, WMV, among others. Honestly, the only real difference between this converter and other converters by Emicsoft is that it comes with more conversion profiles for high video resolutions. The graphical user interface is identical to all other converters by the company. They use the same design, with a video player on the right, some space for your conversion queue on the left, and the conversion settings at the bottom.
A good number of formats is supported. I was able to open MKV, DivX and MP4 files with no problems. There are quite a few conversion profiles for devices like the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, AppleTV, portable multimedia devices, etc.
Although there is a drop-down menu that allows you to select the subtitle track that you want to use, the feature didn't work for me.
In my testing, I loaded an MKV file, trimmed it to a 1-minute long clip and selected the English subtitles. The file was converted in a little over 2 minutes, but with no subtitles. The resulting file looked great, though.
