Elsewhere is a program designed for people who work in quiet or noisy offices and wish to listen to ambient sounds to boost their productivity. You can also use this application whenever you have problems falling asleep and need to play some relaxing nature noises on your Mac.

The utility lets you choose among three types of ambient sounds (Beach, Forest, and City), each with two different modes for day and night. You can even enable the rain feature if it helps you relax or work better.

I like the fact that this tool comes with its own volume adjusting option. Hence, you can increase or decrease the ambient sound volume without altering the system noise level.

The only aspect I don't like about this program is that you need to make an in-app purchase in order to unlock the rain feature. You can listen to rain sounds only a few moments and afterwards it says you need to pay to use the option again.

Briefly, this application offers quality nature sounds. However, you can find programs that offer you more ambient sounds and don't cost a dime. So, it's up to you to decide if it's worth installing Elsewhere on your Mac or not.
