DU Recorder is an application designed to help you capture the activity of your screen. The resulting video can be saved on a determined computer location or directly live streamed on social networks. The tool supports capturing both video and audio for a complete screen recording experience.

The utility is simple and easy to use. It opens with a straightforward and intuitive interface that allows you to enable in a click the desired recording function out of three options provided. Therefore, with this tool you can perform video recordings of computer screen, livestream, and camera. Before starting the recording, you can set the output resolution, the number of frames per second, the recording area which may be either full screen or a determined area, the audio input, and the favorite camera. Unfortunately, the settings you tailor for a recording can't be saved as template for future use. So, each time you want to make a new recording, you need to start all over again with the output settings. Another drawback of this application is that it unexpectedly closes sometimes. Therefore, stability isn't a strong point you can rely on. Also, it doesn't support setting a shortcut to start the recording using keyboard controls, which would have been very useful if using the app frequently.

To conclude, DU Recorder is a simple screen recording application. It lets you determine output video parameters so the result can fit your needs. Yet, the utility has a series of shortcomings that may not compensate the fact that it is available as a freeware.
