Dueling Starships is a very simple arcade shooter game. In this game, you control a single starship. There are several other ships in the game, and they all shoot at you. The game map contains quite a few different planets. There are the Earth with the Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, and the Sun, among others. There are three difficulty modes: Easy, Normal and Hard. The main difference between them is that on Easy, when you collide with the planets or sun, you will just bounce off of them. In Normal and Hard, you will lose a life.
The controls are very simple. You can move your ship up, down, left and right by using the arrow keys. And you shoot your weapon with the space bar. Controlling the ship is not easy at all, despite the simple controls. Dueling Starships simulates the lack of gravity in space quite well, so your ship can't really make sharp turns and it takes a lot of work to make it turn at all, especially when you are shooting and trying to avoid being shot down.
In conclusion, Dueling Starships is a nice game for $0.99. It has simple graphics and it is easy to play. The hard difficulty level is challenging and fun.
