Drumatix is the only freeware, Roland style drum machine for the Macintosh! It is very simple to use and sports a 16 step sequencer. It's fully programmable and doesn't come with cheesy presets, best thing is that it's free!
So why are we giving away a drum machine? Easy: because there's only two free ones out there and they're either very slow, overcomplicated or they use those horrific MIDI drum sounds that everyone hates! Enough is enough!
Halcyon Digital Research fights back with a bank of samples and a 16 step sequencer that puts the others to shame. Drumatix uses samples from the Roland TR 606, 808, 909, 707 and samples of the amen loop for all you jungleheads out there, the Linndrum machine AND they can be arranged however you want!
There is also a TB-303 style arpeggiator that allows you to program in a rhythm - with a bass sound, a bleep sound, and best of all, that classic rave piano sound.
You can also use the keyboard to control Drumatix! So there's no need for a mouse, making the transfer between idea to sound is as quick as you can press buttons. It's also ideal for broken trackpads and mice covered in your favourite beverage.
