Uniblue DriverScanner is a system maintenance tool whose main purpose is to detect old drivers and update them. You probably know that old and outdated drivers may be the source of countless errors and instability issues in your system. To tackle this problem, DriverScanner is an excellent option, guaranteeing all your PC devices work properly. What it does is scan your computer for outdated drivers and then offer you an easy way of updating them, thus freeing you from the tedious task of looking for specific drivers on the web.

After a quick search on your PC, the program displays a list of the outdated drivers found along with some interesting details such as the date these drivers were installed, their version, and even the 'driver age'. Besides this information, Uniblue DriverScanner offers you a link to download and install all the outdated controllers. It would be nice to have a download button next to each particular item on the list in order to download individual drivers. You can, however, decide which driver you want to install once they have been downloaded.

Once you click the download button, the program will start downloading the new drivers right away and will tell you whether a file is safe to install or not, that is, if it is a driver related to sensitive areas such as the motherboard, which may cause conflicts in your system. Once everything is set, you just click the install button and the program will take care of the rest.

I liked the fact that the program creates a restore point every time a new driver is installed, so you can roll your PC's settings back to a previous point in case something goes wrong with the newly installed driver. Additional features and configuration options are included in the 'Settings' tab, enabling you, for example, to schedule a system scan, set the download folder, change the interface language, etc. Another interesting feature is that from the 'Manage' tab, you can remove from your system the downloaded files after setup.

Overall, the program does a pretty good job downloading and installing driver updates. I was surprised at how fast the program detected outdated drivers in my PC and how little time it took to update them. Using it is very easy; it has a compact interface that makes the process really simple. Most importantly, it offers options to protect your system from undesired changes.
