Mickey Mouse, Elsa, Anna, Iron Man, and Captain America have some new allies: Star Wars! That’s right Darth Vader and company have hyperdrived their way into Disney Infinity 3.0.
Disney Infinity 3.0 continues Disney’s lucrative toy-to-life franchise. This toy focused genre has players purchasing models to add characters and levels to their game - think physical downloadable content. And this time, the toys are Star Wars themed.
Currently there arethree Star Wars playsets announced; Twilight of the Republic, Rise Against the Empire, and The Awakening of the Force. Additionally, the game will have a playset based on Pixar’s new film Inside Out, and a Marvel one.
You can play each playset with a fixed cast of appropriately themed of toys. But, if you are looking for more freedom to mix characters, then there is the Toy Box mode. This will be familiar to all Disney Infinity fans. It is a more open play experience, where you can mix franchises and have them compete in races and minigames
Disney Infinity 3.0 follows the same basic format as previous installments: play with some levels and characters for free, and unlock more by buying toys. It oddly appealing for all ages, especially Star Wars fans who want the fantastic toys.
With the galactic saga about to experiencea second golden age with J.J. Abram’s new movie and the more mature Star Wars Battlefront game - Disney Infinity 3.0 is the perfect choice for younger fans.
It will come to PC fall 2015.
