This application offers to scan hard drives in order to detect which files and folders take most disk space. With this tool, you will have a clear view of the space consumption and, consequently, you will be able to take the decision of which items should be deleted to gain valuable disk space.
Once you open the program, the interface displays a pie-like chart with information related to the total disk space, the used space, and the free space of the selected drive, which may be either the hard disk or an external drive connected to your computer. This way, you will see at a glance whether the disk needs cleaning or if there is still enough space for storing data and for running computer tasks properly. To narrow the scan process, you can select a specific folder for analysis. The moment the scan ends, you will see the results conveniently displayed into two viewing modes. Thus, the general mode shows the content of the scanned drive in a tree-map view, as well as the percentage values of each file and folder in relation to the analyzed drive. The detail mode displays space consumption by file type, such as documents, videos, audio files, etc. This way, you can find out which category of files is taking most disk space. In addition, you have the ability to view the content of a selected item from the context menu.
In short, Disk Space Analyzer is a simple application that lets you check the storage space of a selected drive, so that you can decide upon the files or folders that can be removed in order to recover disk space.
