DesktopAssistant is a program that will let you search online from any application. All you will have to do is select any word on any application and use the configured hotkey, and the program will launch an online and desktop search for that word, using your preferred search engines. The results will be shown in a new window in your preferred browser. By default, the hotkey to launch a search is Alt+Left Button of the mouse. You can change it to whatever you will like. By default, the program will search the selected word (or the word in the program's docked box) in The Free Dictionary (http://www.thefreedictionary.com). The free version of DesktopAssistant won't allow you to modify this search engine. In the Plus version you can change that. DesktopAssistant is also able to perform arithmetic calculations. You only need to enter any operation in the program's docked box, and click on the "Look It Up" button. The program will launch the Window's Calculator, with the result already showing in that window.
