iBooks Author is a program designed by Apple for users who wish to create their own e-books from the comfort of their homes. Designs for iBooks Author is a Mac application that provides you with templates which can be used when working with the aforementioned utility.
Designs for iBooks Author comes as an app that brings a user-friendly interface, features an integrated search tool which helps you find the template you need, and shows small previews (thumbnail) of all offered designs. Furthermore, you have access to a built-in help guide that teaches you how to handle the program.
On Mac App Store it says that the utility is free of charge. However, when testing the application, I noticed that you need to make in-app purchases in order to have access to all iBooks Author templates.
Another thing I didn't like was the quality of the offered designs. Some of the templates weren't as impressive as I was expected.
With that being said, I think you can find better solutions for personalizing your iBooks Author creations. For instance, the aforementioned publication creator brings you by default some quality templates which you can use for your e-book projects.
