Demon Hunter: Chronicles from Beyond is a fascinating puzzle game for Mac that brings you the story of Dawn Harlock, an intriguing unusual red-eyed woman. Her objective is to investigate the death of professor Ashmor as well as learn more about her past.
Your journey starts at the gate of Ashmor's mansion where you can start collecting clues and interact with other characters. You will also need to complete various hidden object mini-games, matching challenges, etc.
The app also provides you with an interactive tutorial at the beginning of the game, many useful hints, and an integrated help guide. What's more, your progress is automatically saved for each player profile you create.
Only two things bothered me while playing this puzzle game: it occasionally ran slow and lacked an option to change the appearance of the mouse cursor (to system's cursor, many HOG games offered this feature). Other than that, the plot and scenery were very impressive and the puzzles were challenging and fun to solve.
With that being said, it's worth buying the full version of this entertaining game.
