Dispense justice against an army of evil cyborgs before they take over Spanktopia. Battle away in this top down fighting game.
Deathspank creates an interesting blend between a futuristic setting and an archaic aesthetic. While you are undoubtedly in a sci-fi setting, the characters dress more like something from a viking invasion. The style is that of a top down RPG game, affording you a complete view of the battle grounds as you run around tackling cyborgs (known as cyborques) and collecting loot. The art style is a nice mix of 3D and 2D, though the levels are fairly linear, which would be fine but previous Deathspank games prided themselves on open world exploration.
If you have played the previous Deathspank games and you're looking for more action in that world, Deathspank: The Baconing should scratch that itch. Just bear in mind that this game does not live up to those predecessors. Though it is still very fun. The levels can start to feel repetitive after a time, and the difficulty can swing wildly from too easy to too hard, but all in all it's a good game.
