Deadline Pulse is an optional server application that acts as a proxy between the other Deadline applications and the Repository, which helps reduce the load on your network and improve Deadline's overall performance. You only need to run one instance of Pulse (it's part of the Deadline Client installation), and it can run on any machine in your network. If you have more than 50 render nodes in your farm, or are experiencing performance issues, we recommend that you run Pulse.
