Data Extractor is intended to extract data from unstructured text and collect them in a database. Automating this process saves a lot of time and effort, so this is the ideal tool in situations in which you need to collect data from multiple documents, such as customer orders received via email.

The application has a tabbed interface and following the order of the tabs is just like using a wizard. As this is not the kind of tool you can use straight from the start, it is excellent news that it comes with various lessons and a detailed user guide. Unfortunately, the English version of the website and the guide have multiple language errors, which do not deter understanding, though.

Regrettably, some interface elements need to be redesigned. For instance, the Extract button is active when there is nothing to process. Likewise, the Stop Extraction button is enabled even when there is no ongoing extraction. It would be better to disable them in those situations in order not to confuse the user.

Data Extractor lets you import multiple documents in a single session. Fortunately, when you add a folder, it includes all its subfolders, and subsequently all the files in them. Next, you need to set rules for the correct extraction of the data they contain. Luckily, you can create specific rules for each document, which comprise the type of data to extract and the database field to store them. The application can successfully identify data in documents if there is a recognizable pattern, such as labels and tags. Finally, you can proceed to extract the desired data, which is done in a blink of an eye. Although Data Extractor has its built-in database, the collected data can be exported to other formats, such as CSV, TSV and HTML. What is more, you can use a custom format.

All in all, Data Extractor can effectively and accurately parse data from various types of documents in practically no time. So, if you have such needs, my recommendation is to download and try this tool, which can be done at no cost.
