DAP is a popular Windows download manager that has made the switch to the Mac system.
The application aims to bring the same speed enhanced transfers, intuitive management controls and many other features as well that have made it a favorite among many Windows users. In spite of that, the latest Mac version comes nowhere near the Windows one; with an interface that looks outdated and a wide range of missing features, I find DAP no different than many other download managers I could actually get for free.
The utility allows users to pause and resume downloads, add multiple files on the download list and start transfers at a specific time (scheduler). Latest download managers however also provide a tag- or category-based system for finding the downloaded data. Moreover, DAP does not have the ability to set bandwidth limits or priorities for specific downloads (for example set the download speed limit to 50 KBS).
If all you need is a simple and effective tool for speeding up transfers, this application should do the job adequately.
